“Chalet I stay at..?” Date of review: Mar 12, 2011
I knew we were onto a winner when we got scrambled egg, bacon and sausage for our
first breakfast. Later that day I sip a superb smooth red whilst relaxing in the hot tub.
This is of course just before we are called into the dining room where Chris and Lorraine
put on a perfect evening meal of salmon and dauphinoise potatoes followed by a perfect fruit crumble and custard!
First (and every) morning of skiing, Chris will recommend the best ski area for that day and short of carrying you to the mini bus will drop you at the bottom of the gondola. Same deal at sunset Chris will be waiting to take you back at about half-past five o'clock which is cake and gluhwein o'clock at the Chalet..!
Our group go away every year skiing and trust me this was the best catered chalet we've stayed at for years; I would recommend it to anyone who likes their home comforts and brilliant hosts. Thank you, Chris and Lorraine. Simon Doble, UK
I am sure you are aware but I have to comment on what a wonderful job Chris & Lorraine do. Having worked in the hospitality industry myself for many years I am well aware of the ups & downs of a good operation but they are both truly exceptional in every sense. Lorraine’s food & organizational skills are extremely professional & yet they both have a wonderful ability to make everything work & still exude the relaxed & apparently laid back atmosphere that everyone wants in a chalet such as yours. We stayed in February and had a brilliant holiday. Lorraine and Chris went out of their way to make our holiday wonderful. Lorraine's cooking was amazing and her and Chris (aka Mr Rubber Glove Man!) provided the perfect chalet experience - they really made the chalet a home from home experience for us - fab food, limitless wine, great conversation, cool entertainment (in the form of quiz night and games night) and all done with brilliant good humour and finesse throughout! I cannot rate the pair of them highly enough as chalet hosts. We'll be back! Thanks!! Arlene

They also had brilliant knowledge of where the best snow could be found and provided transport to and from the slopes at no extra cost.
The food, provided by Lorraine and Chris, was quite exceptional; more like a five star hotel. They were happy to accommodate all diets and were lovely people to be around. We even got to ski with them which was such a treat. After skiing there was always a fresh pot of tea and freshly baked cakes waiting at the chalet. Perfect. I would highly recommend this chalet, it is warm, comfortable, friendly and very good value for money.

Spent 2 wonderful weeks in the Chalet... The chalet is like a home away from home with a generous lounge area etc. There's free wi-fi in the Chalet which is really handy.
The food was out of this world - every meal was fantastic and they provided us with sandwich making materials for those who didn't want to stop for lunch which was a real money saver.
Chris and Lorraine couldn't do enough for us - we had 2 very different groups during our stay (a group of 30 somethings then a group consisting of a family and a boys only holiday group) and everyone was great.
Every day we would be driven to the best ski location - where the lift lines were the lowest and / or where the snow was the best. Chris and Lorraine were very flexible however and changed their plans when we requested to be driven to a different ski area than was originally planned.
I can't say enough good things about our stay there - would definitely stay there again next time.
Food was amazing , the kids couldn't wait to get back for afternoon tea with a different homemade cake everyday. Really enjoyed our evening drinks with Chris and Lorraine, nothing was too much trouble for them, even the last morning breakfast was later so the children could have an extra hour in bed which was needed. Everything is organised for you and nothing is to much trouble, so would definitely recommend...

Chris and Lorraine are just fabulous. We were made to feel so welcome; the food was just incredible (thank you Lorraine!). The lifts to the slopes and the pick ups were perfect, the rooms are the biggest we've had in a chalet and they all made our holiday one of the best we've ever had! I'd recommend 100% to anyone who wants to be looked after for a week by some extremely nice people! Thank you.

My Husband & I spent a week in January. Chris & Lorraine do a wonderful job as hosts. Lorraine's food is quite superb, the quality of the wines excellent & there is a feeling of warm generosity about everything. Nothing is too much trouble - Lorraine was happy to put washing on for us as we had already been travelling for a week, Chris was happy to drive us to the Swiss border at some ungodly hour to catch a train for our departure & made sure the bread was there for brekky before we left!

On arrival back to the chalet there was always a lovely cake and tea waiting. In the evenings Chris and Lorraine were there to look after us. It was a treat under the moon and stars with a gin and tonic or a glass of wine! Very decadent! Lorraine was a wonderful cook, cordon bleu and the food was amazing and the wine etc never stopped flowing! We were also spoilt by the beautiful weather, blue skies and sunshine so it was the perfect ski holiday! Nothing was too much trouble, and extremely good value.

very comfortable, and our twin room had plenty of space for the 2 of us. The food was great and wine plentiful, but what made it really exceed my expectations was the super service offered by Chris and Lorraine. Nothing was too much trouble. They wanted to know what 'we wanted' - not just what they had to offer!! A refreshing change!! They both have that clever quality of always being available, providing the service that we wanted, but without being intrusive. It was great that they both came skiing with us one day - we thoroughly enjoyed their company.

I organised a short break for my work colleagues through our sports and social club. There were 20 of us in total. In summary I would recommend this chalet to anyone.
Lorraine’s cooking is first class and Chris’s hospitality is great…they kept us amused and the wine flowing!!!
Regarding skiing, every day our hosts ensured we were dropped off by the mini vans and picked up in the pub afterwards. This allowed us to ski all the areas. Chris guided the intermediate group. We had a fantastic day skiing and certainly one to remember!
Our last evening in the chalet was so much fun. Chris and Lorraine joined us after dinner for some party games and a good old sing song!! The wine was certainly flowing that night!!
I would love to return to this chalet…its one of the better ones I have stayed in. Thanks again for your hospitality. We had so much fun!!!

Every single factor of this Chalet holiday had been covered, and to an extremely high standard! Nothing was too much trouble for the team; the whole experience seamless, with the help of some fantastic staff, namely Lorraine and Chris.
From fab food to fun and laughter, hot wine, ski guiding to après ski...this holiday ticked every box! We'll be back!! (that's if they'll have us 12 again??)

Lorraine and Chris's food was excellent and the day they guided us around Courmayeur was a great day out. They would also run us into town for Après drinks then pick us up to come back for evening dinner !! Thank you to Chris & Lorraine

We have just returned from a week and had a great time. The chalet is run by Chris and Lorraine, and they are exceptional: Chris will drive and collect you at a convenient time and generally ensure your stay is enjoyable and carefree, whilst Lorraine cooks some lovely food, with plenty of wine on the go! All in all, a great stay.

We stayed at this chalet in January. The whole "package" from start to finish is just what a skiing holiday is all about. Everything is taken care of, nothing is too much trouble, the chalet itself is very warm and welcoming, immaculate clean comfortable rooms and the food is fantastic [thanks to Lorraine] .All the staff really go that "extra mile" to make your holiday experience a great one, so good i hope its not too long before our return!! . We would highly recommend this chalet [and have done ] for the whole overall experience , oh and yes the skiing is great too!!!

Very comfortable accommodation and outstanding food. The extras, such as ferrying to and from the airport/ski lifts/hire shop made it exceptional value for money.

Great chalet. very warm and friendly welcome. Wonderful views of the mountains, with easy access to all areas. Attention to detail and lots of thought from everyone at the chalet made our stay a fabulous experience. We stayed in Feb 2011 for a week. This was our first holiday skiing as a family. Our chalet hosts Chris and Lorraine were fantastic. Lorraine's food is to die for, breakfast was plentiful and the three course dinners at night were gorgeous.
Overall we felt completely looked after by everyone and nothing was too much trouble.
I would thoroughly recommend
